I wrote yesterday that I did not feel that today’s Church possesses the characteristics of the church of Laodicea, the lukewarm church that grew spiritually complacent with its earthly riches. However, I qualified my statement by stating that I would not disagree with those who argue that many of the churches today possess the characteristics of the Laodicean church. I originally planned to release my viewpoint on the seven churches today after a weekend of study and reflection. However, I am still torn about the relevance of the seven churches to us today. Here is what I am thinking at the moment in case you still want to try to sway me in a certain direction.

Over the past few days I have been considering writing about the seven churches mentioned in Revelation 2 and Revelation 3. I have not written about the seven churches yet because my view on the seven churches is not yet fully developed. The big news of the day for me is a new report about an indicator of future economic activity that the Economics Cycle Research Institute (ECRI) publishes. The ECRI takes a bunch of different factors that drive economic growth in the U.S. and creates a number that tells us where the U.S. economy is likely heading. A recession is practically guaranteed when the ECRI's indicator is at -10. Today the ECRI reported that their indicator has dropped from -5.8 to -6.9 in the past week. Just a few weeks ago the indicator was above +10. The ECRI's result is a clear indicator the U.S. economy is weakening rapidly.

A reader asked me to create a timeline of events surrounding Share International. I think a timeline would be very useful because it helps give us some kind of idea what has happened and how quickly events have happened. I have decided to make a timeline that goes beyond listing the things Share International has done. My View on the Prospect for a Major Middle East War Soon
There is a belief among some Christians that we are going to soon see a major Middle East war which will fulfill a lot of Bible prophecy. Why Politicians Change Positions During Elections
The past several days I have been inundated with phone calls featuring the “voice” of certain politicians telling me to vote for “person xyz” or to vote for “person abc”. On television and radio there is nothing but political advertisements asking me to do the same thing. The commonality in all these solicitations and advertisements is that I should vote for a particular candidate because they are more “extreme” on issues important to me than the other candidate(s).
This is an election year in the United States so the solicitations are something most Americans have little choice but to endure. The thing that strikes me the most in my state is that we have two candidates running to become the Republican Party’s nominee for governor who have flip-flopped on so many important positions that you really do not know if they are being honest when they say they will do certain things once they are elected.
- Both candidates in the past have supported issues that no Republican would dare support like abortion and relaxed immigration laws. Both candidates have even supported and donated money to left-wing politicians like Al Gore. However, both candidates now portray themselves now as diehard Conservatives.
I’m sure this phenomenon is common in other states so I’ll try to shed some light into why politicians seem to change their stance so much during election campaigns.

The United Nations (U.N.) is a highly controversial international body that garners a lot of attention from all parts of the ideological spectrum. The left hails the U.N. as an international body that helps to create greater global unity and helps to promote greater equality across the globe. Meanwhile, those on the right have a far less favorable opinion of the U.N.

It’s important to understand the threat Hitler posed to Christianity because World War 2 was much more than a conflict between individuals and ideology. A few weeks ago an Edgar Cayce author and expert was interviewed on the popular late-night talk radio program Coast to Coast AM. I did not have an opportunity to listen to the interview until this past Saturday, but I am glad I heard it because there was some interesting information about how Cayce, a man who I believe the forces of evil used, received information to make predictions and some interesting information about some of Cayce’s predictions. I will share with you what information stood out to me now.
