The Bible warns us that famine is one of the signs we will see during the birth pangs period:

I’m sure many people who monitor current events for signs that the End Times are approaching are drawn to news reports about the rapidly rising food prices, the United Nation’s warning that food prices are nearing crisis levels, and the emerging social unrest in countries that are most sensitive to the rapidly rising cost of food.
- Monitoring these recent developments is wise because this rising food prices situation can lead to much greater instability in the world if it continues. However, I would not yet say that what's going on is unprecedented since there was also a major food crisis in 2007-2008 (which quietly died down by the end of 2008). It’s still too early to determine whether we have something unprecedented now…
As news reports focus on rising food prices, a disease that may be capable of becoming a future driver of famine is very quietly spreading...
- Ug99 is capable of infecting 80-90% of the varieties of wheat in existence.
- Ug99 can kill an entire week crop within a few weeks after it infects a crop.
- Ug99 is a major concern for scientists because it is capable of traveling long distances via wind. Wind has enabled Ug99 to spread from Africa to the Middle East and perhaps soon to Southwest Asia.

I heard about Ug99 while listening to a podcast interview about global weather conditions during the summer last year. I did not mention Ug99 on the blog then because I thought the disease would quickly become common knowledge as it continued to destroy wheat crops.
I was very surprised by how few views these videos have received since they were produced last year. It’s an indication that very few people are aware that Ug99 exists and the danger that it can potentially pose someday soon. Hopefully, a lot more people are aware about stem rust/Ug99 after today…

I had never heard of it.Another excuse too for scientists to come up with more genetically engineerd foods.Soon all we have to eat will be man made foods that will potentially modify our DNA.

It could be if this disease becomes global. We saw with H1N1 that scientists used the crisis as an excuse to bring an untested vaccine to market.
I wonder if scientists can develop a Ug99 resistant type of wheat before this disease is everywhere. This disease is spreading fast and can mutate too.
We are heading into the end times, if you follow the news, look at the state of the economy and focus on globalization. The world is fast becoming a one world economy and day by day it is getting even faster.

I see strong indications that the global economic and financial system is going to breakdown. The current system is unsustainable since it's built on debt, so it would be extremely difficult to achieve a one-world system when building on the current one. The current system is most likely going to breakdown (with it will come a lot more wars, rumors of war, commotions, famine, etc) and a new global system emerge in its aftermath. I could be wrong though so people should look at others' opinions.
It is interesting that Monsato nearly holds monopoly or has the monopoly on seeds in the world. (I can be wrong -needs a bit more research though) But heirloom seeds are rarely available. Vast regions in the world do not have their own original heirloom seeds anymore. The Global Crop Diversity Trust (Rome) Guarino-" many parts of Africa would no longer be able to grow anything", " few traditional primary cereal crops , African varieties of maize, millet and sorghum-selected by farmers over centuries for their unique suitability to local growing conditions are available in gene banks" Now I wonder where are the gene banks and who holds the keys? There is a seed vault in Norway... (like a `Noah `s ark` concept for in case it all goes up in smoke?) also by crisis feeding so many people in Africa-they have lost the ability to plan and feed themselves? Famine can be engineered?

Famines can be engineered by man. Some claim that Joesph Stalin purposely orchestrated a famine to starve the people of Ukraine in the 1930s to suppress Ukrainian Nationalism. Millions died from it...
