Identifying the Timing of Jeremiah 25:15-38 in Context of the End Times

I decided to devote much of yesterday to completing my study of the timing of Jeremiah 25:15-38. I’ve been studying this passage for the past six years in-depth, yet it’s only been these past few days where I feel I made significant progress in understanding this important passage.

Today I share my research findings concerning Jeremiah 25:15-38. I will focus particularly on verses 27 to 33, which I believe provide enough textual clues to make a determination about when this prophecy will be fulfilled.

  • Note 1: This is a fairly long article. However, a major reason why this article is so long is that I placed Bible verses inside of tables. I felt that placing Bible verses inside of tables would make it easier for you to compare various verses. Let me know if you prefer that I do not use tables in the future. This is my first time using tables in a blog post so your feedback on this would be welcomed. (if you're not viewing this article on the blog website and the tables are not appearing, you can read the original article at this link)
  • Note 2: Although this is a fairly long article, I did not include all the verses I had available. I included enough verses to provide you an idea of where I believe Jeremiah 25:15-38 fits in the prophecy timeline.

A Link to an Article about Jordan Destabilizing

Today I want to alert people to a Jerusalem Post article that cites analysts within Jordan who believe a crisis within Jordan is approaching as tensions rise rapidly between reformists and pro-government groups.

The article can be found at this link

The instability in Jordan is nowhere near the instability found in Libya and even Syria (where anti-government protesters are burning buildings belonging to the ruling party). However, the article quotes people within Jordan who feel the situation could “explode at any moment”.

Jordan is a country that we need to watch closely because they’ve had a peace treaty with Israel since 1994. If the tensions escalate into something which threatens the monarchy’s power then the fate of Jordan’s peace treaty with Israel may come into question since it is the monarchy who upholds the treaty even though a majority of Jordanians dislike it. As I wrote before, the cancellation of a peace treaty between Jordan and Israel (and/or Egypt and Israel) could have significant Bible prophecy implications:

By cancelling a peace treaty, Egypt and/or Jordan would no longer be constrained by the agreements they made with Israel in the past and vice versa. (Perhaps it is a war involving Israel versus these countries and others that necessitates the need for the "covenant with many" mentioned in Daniel 9:27 and Isaiah 28:15-19)

The cancellation of one or both peace treaties would also make it much more difficult for peace negotiators to reach an all-encompassing Middle East peace deal because negotiators would have to get Egypt and/or Jordan to agree to a new peace deal with Israel (in addition to getting other parties in the region to agree to peace with Israel). An increase in the difficulty to reach an all-encompassing Middle East peace deal would increase the likelihood that Antichrist will be initially hailed as a “hero” by most people for accomplishing what seemed to be impossible when an all-encompassing Middle East peace deal is finally reached.

I’m still studying Jeremiah 25 and the chapters/passages relating to Egypt and Libya. In addition, I’m working on a side research project that I might write about when I’m finished… I hope to have something to share about Jeremiah 25 soon. I’ve learned a lot these past few days about Jeremiah 25 and other related passages.

An Update on the Bible Prophecy Verses I’m Studying (Now Including Revelation 14:10 & Jeremiah 25:15 Onwards)

I’m still studying Bible prophecy passages and chapters concerning Libya and Egypt. It’s been an extremely challenging topic to study so far because there are many things to consider. Fortunately, however, I think I made some significant progress last night after looking at Revelation 14:10 and Jeremiah 25. Today I want to highlight how Revelation 14:10 and Jeremiah 25 may be related and briefly discuss how this relates to my prophecy study.

Charting 7.0 and Greater Earthquakes from 1900 to Today

Last week I pointed out that Luke 21:11 suggests that we will hear about great earthquakes-rather than regular earthquakes-in diverse places prior to the Second Coming of Christ.

  • Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

I also provided two charts showing magnitude 8.0 and greater earthquake activity across different time periods from 1900 to today.

  • These charts suggested that we have recently seen a historically high number of magnitude 8.0 and greater earthquakes in the timeframe (110 years) that we can account for.

Some people may argue that focusing solely on magnitude 8.0 and greater earthquakes causes us to ignore many major earthquakes that have transpired over the past several decades. Here are a couple of the many major earthquakes that were not accounted for in last week’s charts because they were below magnitude 8.0.

  • Sichuan 2008 (7.9)
  • Haiti 2010 (7.0)

I wanted to provide charts that included magnitude 7.0 and greater earthquakes last week, but I was unable to locate data accounting for magnitude 7.0 and greater earthquakes between 1900 and today when I published my article about great earthquakes from 1900 and today.

Fortunately, I found data over the weekend that enabled me to create a couple of charts that allow us to compare recent magnitude 7.0 and greater earthquake activity with past activity.

  • Today I share these charts with you so you can see how recent magnitude 7.0 and greater earthquake activity compares with past activity.

The Return of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict to the Forefront

As people watch what is going on in Libya and elsewhere, tensions between Israel and the Palestinians have escalated dramatically over the past few days.

These recent events are significant because they seem to represent a return to hostilities between the Palestinians and Israel after a period of relative calm or what Israeli politician Nachman Shai referred to today as "the quiet period" (which he feels is ending).

  • The nature of the attacks seen over the past few days (like today's bombing and the large number of the mortars fired last Saturday) have not been seen in years. The nature of these attacks suggest that these attacks are not one time events, but instead part of a longer-term terror campaign. I do not think the Palestinians would launch such major attacks against Israel unless they were ready to face the prospect of a prolonged conflict with Israel…
  • Meanwhile, Israeli government officials seem ready to respond to these attacks with force

Some Things I’m Watching For in Libya

Everyone probably knows by now that several countries including France, Britain, Italy, Spain, Canada, the United States, and even some Arab countries have formed a coalition to impose a no-fly zone over Libya after the passage of a U.N. resolution calling for the establishment of one.

I’m watching the events in Libya with some interest because there are a few things that I think could potentially transpire in the coming days, weeks, and months. Today I discuss some of the things I’m watching for during this ongoing event.

Charting Great Earthquake Activity Since 1900

A couple of days ago I pointed out that Luke 21:11 suggests that we will hear about great earthquakes-rather than regular earthquakes-in diverse places prior to the Second Coming of Christ.

  • Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

I also said that I would not disagree with people who argue that we have heard about great earthquakes in diverse places recently given the reports of strong earthquakes impacting various places around the world in recent years...

I was curious whether the number of great earthquakes in recent years is comparable to another time period in the past. Yesterday I located some data about past great earthquakes and created a couple of charts that enable us to compare recent years with the past.

  • Today I share these charts with you so you can see how great earthquake activity in recent years compares with the past.

An Easy to Understand Video Explaining What Happened at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant

It’s been difficult for me to monitor the Japan’s nuclear crisis with any solid grasp of what is actually happening because many news articles fail to provide an introductory explanation of what happened at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant before reporting on what is taking place there now.

  • It’s even harder to fully understand what is going on when watching coverage of the crisis on television because the news anchors often provide the latest information and conduct interviews with experts under the assumption that the viewing audience already knows about everything that has happened and understands what the latest information means.

The following short video has helped me to gain a much greater understanding of what happened at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Link I thought I would share this video since this is not an easy subject to understand for many people, including myself.

The video mentions that fuel rods can melt if they cannot be cooled, but does not explain why melting fuel rods are a problem.

  • The sense I got after reading this article is that radioactive material is released when the fuel rods melt.

The article also notes that the vast majority of fuel rods at the plant are located in storage pools, and that the (spent) fuel rods in the storage pools pose a greater threat than the fuel rods inside the reactor cores.

  • This would explain why the Japanese are attempting to spray water in the storage pools via helicopter and water cannon: they are trying to cool down the (spent) fuel rods in the storage pool with the temperature-modifying effects of water.

I hope the video above helps people to better understand why there are major problems at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and helps people to better understanding the information that comes out in the future about the situation at the plant. I hope and pray that the brave Japanese workers who are risking their lives to keep the situation under control are successful…

Luke 21:11: The Nature of Birth Pangs Earthquakes

The earthquake in Japan, the subsequent tsunami, and the ongoing nuclear crisis is a great human tragedy that is never going to be forgotten.

I’m sure many of you are not only thinking about the people in Japan but also how this tragedy fits in context of where we are in relation to the start of the End Times…

Last night I searched for the words “earthquake” and “earthquakes” in a Bible software program I use to see how often these words appear in the Bible. The results were as followed:

  • The word “earthquake” appears in thirteen verses, including five verses in the Book of Revelation.
  • The word “earthquakes” appears in three verses associated with the Olivet Discourse.

During my review of verses that contain the words “earthquake” or “earthquakes” I noticed a detail relating to earthquakes that I had not noticed before…

  • Today I’ll discuss this detail just in case other people are unaware it.

A Brief Update on My Bible Prophecy Study

Last week I mentioned that I was focused on several Bible prophecy passages and chapters relating to Egypt and Libya and that I would spend the weekend studying them further.

I spent a lot of time studying all the passages and chapters I mentioned this past weekend. My initial goal was to publish a detailed article on the events and the timing of the events described in Daniel 11:40-11:45 by today.

  • The reason I wanted to start with Daniel 11:40-45 was because the passage provides some context surrounding an attack on Egypt and other locations "at the time of the end”:

  • Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
  • Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
  • Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
  • Dan 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
  • Dan 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
  • Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

Unfortunately, I must delay the article on Daniel 11:40-45 because I’m still in the process of reviewing other peoples’ interpretations and analysis of the passage. I want to make sure I have a fuller understanding of Daniel 11:40-45 before I write about the other passages I mentioned last week concerning Egypt and Libya… I apologize for not being able to fully analyze the passage today.

Please feel free to share any thoughts you may about Daniel 11:40-45. Perhaps you may have an interpretation of the passage that may help me get a fuller understanding of this important passage. Thank you in advance

New Risks in the Mideast Arise with Saudi Arabia’s Military Intervention in Bahrain

There are several reports today that Saudi Arabia has more than 1,000 troops to Bahrain to help the Bahraini monarchy to contain/quell a popular uprising that has begun to overwhelm the Bahraini monarchy.

  • Bahrain’s opposition responded to this news by stating that Saudi Arabia’s move is the start of an "undeclared war".

I’ve read some rumors this morning that other countries in the region like the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait may intervene as well in Bahrain to support the vulnerable Bahraini monarchy, but these are just rumors at the moment…

Nevertheless, Saudi Arabia’s intervention in Bahrain creates a variety of new risks in the Mideast. Today I want to briefly discuss a couple of important, new risks that now arise after Saudi Arabia’s military intervention.

Some Bible Prophecy Verses I'm Currently Studying

At the end of last Friday’s article I mentioned that I planned to spend last weekend examining some Bible prophecy passages relating Libya, Egypt, and other places in the Mideast to see if there is anything interesting that relates to what is going on now or what might happen in the future…

I did spend last weekend and much of this week examining various passages in the Bible concerning Libya, Egypt, and other places in the Mideast. I still need to spend more time studying these passages, but I want to share with you the specific passages I’m focused on and explain why I’m focused on them.

Mideast Instability May Lead to Renewed Problems in Europe

It’s been awhile since I’ve written about Europe... Today financial markets around the world are down significantly after Moody’s downgraded the credit rating of Spain.

  • The impact of downgrading a country’s credit rating is akin to your credit score being lowered. The lower your credit score is the more costly and difficult it is for you to borrow money from others.

The downgrade of Spain’s credit rating is a reminder to people that Europe’s sovereign debt crisis is not over even though coverage of the crisis has waned with the recent instability in the Mideast and North Africa.

Some people are beginning to worry that the recent events in the Middle East and North Africa may soon have an impact on the sovereign debt crisis in Europe. Today I want to discuss how one event could eventually impact the other.

BBC Poll Suggests Israel Is Not Popular Worldwide

Yesterday the BBC World Service released the results of an annual poll gauging the popularity of more than two dozen countries around the world. The BBC World Service gauged the popularity of countries by asking respondents to assess whether a country had a mainly positive or mainly negative influence in the world.

Last night I was able to download a copy of the poll’s results and had an opportunity to examine them. Today I share my thoughts on the poll’s findings concerning Israel and relate the findings to Bible prophecy.

Revelation 6:1-2: My Thoughts on Whether the First Seal Has Been Opened

An anonymous reader recently made a simple request: “can you figure out where we are in revelations?” in response to my critique of one interpretation of the “half an hour” in Revelation 8:1. I thought it would be fairly easy to answer the request when I first saw it, but the more I thought about how to answer the request the more I realized that my answer would involve my opinion.

Today I’ll provide my opinion about where I believe we are in relation to the Book of Revelation by addressing whether we have seen the opening of the first seal yet...

Three Links Showing the Breadth of Middle East and Northern Africa Unrest & Instability

There are so many protests and uprisings going on throughout Northern Africa and the Middle East at the moment that it can be difficult to monitor what is going in each country at any given moment. For instance, recent, violent events in Libya have overshadowed reports of massive protests in Yemen and reports of sectarian violence in Bahrain these past several days.

  • Today I want to share a few links that may help you track the ongoing unrest in Northern Africa and the Middle East and may give you some idea of the potential for more unrest in the world.

How a Significant U.S. Dollar Decline Can Lead to Further Mideast Instability

The U.S. dollar is perhaps the most important currency in the world at this moment. Oil is priced in U.S. dollars, many international business transactions are conducted in U.S. dollars, and several countries tie the value of their currencies to the U.S. dollar.

  • Today I want to focus on some of the countries who tie the value of their currencies to the U.S. dollar and discuss how a significant decline in the U.S. dollar’s value can lead to further Middle East instability.

A Clarification on My Article about Mideast Instability & Some Other Thoughts

Last week I wrote about how the Middle East is unlikely going to stabilize or may become even more unstable if several countries undergo the democratization process. Recall that researchers at the University of Maryland found that countries undergoing the democratization process (partial democracies) are more prone to experiencing instability and war than autocracies and fully-developed democracies because they are less capable institutionally to deal with unrest.

  • The following link provides a graph illustrating how partial democracies (anocracies) are more prone to experiencing political instability than autocracies and fully-developed democracies: Link

I received a question after I posted the article about whether I actually believe that Middle Eastern was moving towards democracy. It’s a good question because rereading the article I realized that people might be under the impression that I anticipated a great, sweeping democratic wave to spread throughout the Middle East.

Today I want to clarify my stance on this issue just in case other people are confused about where I stand and talk a bit more about what I think could happen.
