Some Important Dates & Events to Watch This Summer

Yesterday was Memorial Day in the U.S., a holiday where Americans remember those who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Memorial Day also marked the unofficial start of summer in the United States. Typically, summer (or winter in the southern hemisphere) is a time of year when news activity quiets down. However, this year has been an exceptional year so far:

  • We have already seen more significant events take place in the first five months of 2011 than we usually see in a multiple year time period.

Today I list some notable and important dates/events to monitor over the next few months which could make these next few months quite interesting.

Isaiah 24: A Puzzle Piece Towards Solving the Mystery of Babylon the Great City?

While reviewing the verses I’ve gathered in my study of Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 I noticed that Isaiah 24 is a chapter that I should spend a little bit of extra time studying. While studying Isaiah 24 I noticed that the chapter concerns a time period late in the End Times and a chapter that may include references to the destruction of Babylon the Great City which is mentioned in Revelation 17 and Revelation 18.

  • Today I provide an overview of Isaiah 24 and discuss how Isaiah 24 could potentially be a chapter that adds to our understanding of Babylon the Great City.

Analyzing Harold Camping's Decision to Continue Predicting the End of the World Despite His Repeated Failures

As many of you probably know by now, Harold Camping appeared on his radio program Monday to give his reaction and thoughts about what happened last Saturday. Camping did not repent for making failed predictions, but instead offered his followers and the media a new interpretation of what happened on May 21 and how this new interpretation fits in context of his prior teachings.

  • Camping now claims that May 21 was a spiritual event instead of a physical event (as he claimed it would be before with complete certainty). According to Camping, the world has entered into “spiritual judgment”.
  • Camping has moved the date of the Rapture and the great earthquake to October 21, 2011, a date that he previously taught as the day when the world ends.

Many people that have read about Camping’s unwillingness to admit he was wrong and his willingness to continue teaching that the world is supposedly going to end on October 21 are probably bewildered and/or annoyed with Camping.

  • Today I want to analyze why Harold Camping continues to push his prophecy teachings despite having his predictions colossally fail last Saturday because I feel his decision to continue can perhaps be understood psychologically. In addition, what I discuss today may shed a bit of understanding into why some people may continue to follow a false prophet like Camping even when he makes a failed prediction(s).

Why Harold Camping’s May 21 Predictions Failed

Everyone knows by now that the Rapture did not take place on May 21, 2011. The day came and went without any serious cataclysms like a great earthquake wreaking havoc across every time zone.

The San Francisco Chronicle managed to contact Harold Camping, the man behind the May 21, 2011 hype, on Sunday. Camping told the Chronicle that he was “flabbergasted” that the Rapture did not take place on May 21. In addition, Camping told the Chronicle that he was looking for answers, which for him means “frequent prayer and consultations with friends”. Several other media outlets report that many followers of Camping are also confused about why the Rapture did not take place on May 21 and are searching for answers.

Today I want to provide an overview of why Harold Camping failed to make accurate predictions concerning May 21.

  • The main reason I believe it is important to write an article about why Camping’s predictions concerning May 21 failed is that there are likely going to be a lot of people looking for answers about why Camping’s prediction failed, particularly the followers of Camping.
  • I also believe it is important to write this article to refute the notion that what happened on May 21 invalidates the Bible and Bible prophecy.

A Detail Map Showing the Israeli Settlements Located in the West Bank

After posting a map showing what Israel's borders could possibly look like if Barack Obama’s vision for a Palestinian state were to become reality, I thought it would be useful to provide a link to a map showing where Israeli settlements are located within the territory that Obama wants the Palestinians to have.

What Israel's Borders Might Look Like If Obama's Vision for a Palestinian State Turns Into Reality

The big news today is that Barack Obama is endorsing the creation of a Palestinian state based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Six Day War. Obama’s call to set Israel’s boundaries back to the boundaries that existed before 1967 in order to create a Palestinian state has already been rejected by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who described the borders as “not defensible”.

I thought it would be useful today to post a map of what Israel looked like before the Six Day War in 1967 to illustrate what Israel could look like if Obama’s plan is enacted.

Why Every Bible Prophecy Verse and Chapter Should Matter

There are a variety of viewpoints out there about when the Rapture will take place in context of the End Times. Many people believe it’ll take place prior to the start or at the start of the End Times while others believe it’ll take place sometime during the End Times. Regardless of whether you are a believer in the Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, Pre-Wrath, or Post-Trib Rapture, I believe it is beneficial for you to try to gain a full understanding of the Book of Revelation and Bible prophecy even if some parts of Bible prophecy may not seem fully relevant to you.

In this article I discuss some important reasons why a person should try to learn as much about Bible prophecy as they can-even if some parts of Bible prophecy may not seem fully relevant to them.

The Many Parallels Found in Isaiah 13 and Jeremiah 50

As I have studied several Bible prophecy chapters and verses relating to Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39, I have closely searched for relationships between the chapters and verses under consideration. I often look for specific key words and terms that appear in multiple areas in the Bible in hopes of finding chapters and verses that talk about the same subject manner.

  • The more chapters and verses that you can identify which talk about the same subject manner the better. It helps you to better understand what is going to happen in the future with greater detail.

Today I want to share an example of how searching for specific key words and terms in a variety of Bible prophecy chapters and verses can help you to link chapters and verses which potentially talk about the same subject manner. The example I’ll use today is Isaiah 13 and Jeremiah 50.

Providing Clarification on My Articles for the Many New Visitors

There recently has been a major increase in the number of new visitors to my blog from the interest in the May 21, 2011 speculation. Many of the new visitors may not have the time to read every single article that I have written, so the possibility exists that some people may get the wrong impression of my viewpoints towards certain subjects concerning Bible prophecy.

Today I want to clarify some things for the many new visitors to the blog who are checking it out for the first time and for those who have recently begun to read my articles.

Critiquing the September 23, 2015 Rapture Speculation

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to examine another date some people are looking to as the potential date of the Rapture: September 23, 2015. I did not know that some people were looking at that date when I was asked about it, so I was unable to provide a response until now.

I recently reviewed several websites which promote September 23, 2015 to see what kind of support its proponents use to claim that the Rapture will take place on this date.

  • Today I share my thoughts on the September 23, 2015 Rapture speculation.

Another Update on My Study on Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39: Examining Ezekiel 39:11 vs. Joel 2:20

I wrote almost two weeks ago that I could begin to publish articles about Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 as soon as the next week (which would have been last week) if things worked out. Several days have passed since then, yet there have been no in-depth articles published.

The reason I have not begun to publish any in-depth articles is that I am trying to gain a further understanding of several chapters relating to Ezekiel 38 and Ezekiel 39 simultaneously. I want to avoid a situation where I publish an article where I say something that I have to take completely back a few days later…

The past couple of days I’ve been trying to figure out whether the army in Joel 2 is the same army mentioned in Ezekiel 39.

  • It is very important to find out whether there is a connection between the army in Joel 2 and the army mentioned in Ezekiel 39 because it may provide a clearer indication of when the events of Joel 2 may occur and potentially link Ezekiel 39 with other prophecies in the Bible which may be related to Joel 2 (i.e. Isaiah 13, which I’ll explain in a future article).

Today I want to provide an update on my ongoing study by sharing some of my observations about Joel 2:20 and Ezekiel 39:11.

  • I feel it is useful to share some of my observations since the process of writing about my observations helps me to collect my thoughts and may help give someone who is also studying these two verses and/or Joel 2 and Ezekiel 39 something to consider. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of articles on the Internet that examine Joel 2:20 and Ezekiel 39:11 closely…

Critiquing Harold Camping’s “Great Earthquake” on May 21 Prediction

Update: Camping's predictions concerning May 21 failed. The following article explains why Camping's predictions failed: Link

There are twelve days left until May 21, 2011, the date that Harold Camping claims is “Judgment Day” and the date of the Rapture. A few months ago I wrote a critique of Camping’s prediction, which you can find at this link if you have not read it yet: Link

I was alerted that Camping has recently made another prediction relating to his “Judgment Day” prediction. Camping predicts that a great earthquake will begin in New Zealand at 6 P.M. on May 21 and then travel across the globe. The prediction was reported yesterday in the New Zealand Herald, one of New Zealand leading news outlets, and has been reported on websites elsewhere on the Internet.

The main reason I write today’s critique even though I have already critiqued Camping’s May 21 “Judgment Day” prediction is that there are probably going to be a lot of people in the next couple of weeks who will hear about Camping’s earthquake prediction and will seek out information concerning this prediction. Hopefully, some of these people may encounter this article or another article like this that will examine Camping’s prediction(s) critically.

My Thoughts on Spiegel Online's Report that Greece Mulls Dropping the Euro

Update: Luxembourg now admits that there was a meeting last Friday-though the meeting was not as serious as what Spiegel Online reported: Link

According to Spiegel Online, Greek government officials are considering the abandonment of the Euro in favor of a return to its national currency: the drachma. Spiegel Online also reports that European Union officials, including Euro-zone finance ministers, have gathered for an emergency crisis meeting in Luxembourg to discuss the matter.

  • After the report came out a Greek government spokesman denied that Greece is considering an abandonment of the Euro and characterized the possibility as “out of the question”: Link
  • There are conflicting reports about whether there is actually an emergency meeting in Luxembourg. However, the BBC reports that there is indeed a meeting involving Germany, France, Finland, and the Netherlands in Luxembourg: Link

Particulate Matter and the “Red Moon” of Revelation 6:12

Yesterday I thought about the moon mentioned in Revelation 6:12 and some potential ways that the moon can become “as blood” besides a lunar eclipse, which I do not believe is the event that is going to make the moon become “as blood” after the sixth seal is opened.

  • My critiques of the Blood Moon/Red Moon Rapture theory can be found here: Link 1 Link 2

After reflecting on the subject yesterday, I would caution people to not underestimate the atmosphere’s ability to alter the moon’s appearance so it resembles the moon described in Revelation 6:12.

A Couple of Thoughts on the April 2011 Share Intl Edition

Pre-Article Disclaimer for Newer Readers: If you are reading this blog for the first time or are not totally familiar with my work, I am a 100% Christian writer who analyzes things from a Christian point of view. I sometimes research into what the spiritual forces of evil are up to in hopes of gleaning information to help us Christians figure out what is going on or to figure out what Satan has planned. You can read more about why I dare consider these unbiblical sources at the following link Now on to the article...

A few days after March’s Japan earthquake, a portion of the April 2011 edition of Benjamin Creme's (the official spokesmen of Maitreya, the leader of the Ascended Masters-a group of spiritual beings referred to as the “spiritual wickedness in high places” in Ephesians 6:12)magazine was released online. I was asked for my thoughts about the magazine at that time, but I wanted to wait until I saw the other portions of the magazine that would be made available online before commenting.

Additional portions of the magazine were supposedly posted online last week, but the links have not worked until now. Therefore, I have been unable to write about it until now...

  • Today I provide a couple of my thoughts on the April 2011 edition of Creme’s magazine.

Assessing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Decision to Contest Half of Egypt’s Parliamentary Seats

Last Saturday the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood announced that they will be forming a new, "independent" political party to contest approximately 45 to 50% of the parliamentary seats at stake in Egypt’s September parliamentary election.

  • There is still a long-lasting ban on religious groups which prohibits them from forming a political party directly linked to them. However, the Muslim Brotherhood has historically found ways to circumvent this ban by affiliating with one of Egypt's secular political parties or running their own independent candidates without any affiliation to a political party.
  • This time the Muslim Brotherhood has formed a political party which they claim is not directly linked to them, but will coordinate with them and work with secular parties. The new political party will be known as the “Freedom and Justice Party”.

Today I want to analyze the Muslim Brotherhood’s decision to contest between 45 to 50% of Egypt’s parliamentary seats since many people are concerned about the prospect of the Muslim Brotherhood someday taking power in Egypt.
