October 2011 Edition of Creme’s Magazine Attempts to Reinterpret the Great Tribulation

Pre-Article Disclaimer for Newer Readers: If you are reading this blog for the first time or are not totally familiar with my work, I am a 100% Christian writer who analyzes things from a Christian point of view. I sometimes research into what the spiritual forces of evil are up to in hopes of gleaning information to help us Christians figure out what is going on or to figure out what Satan has planned. You can read more about why I dare consider these unbiblical sources at the following link Now on to the article...

I occasionally encounter a claim or a series of claims about the future from unbiblical sources that remind me of a Bible prophecy concept when I investigate them in an attempt to glean information about what the spiritual forces are up to or what Satan has planned in the future. Unbiblical sources typically attempt to reinterpret the meaning of a Bible prophecy concept/event in a way that warps the truth and/or advances Satan’s agenda.

I mention this because the October 2011 edition of Benjamin Creme’s (the official spokesmen of Maitreya, the leader of the Ascended Masters-a group of spiritual beings referred to as the “spiritual wickedness in high places” in Ephesians 6:12) magazine contains a prime example where an end time event is reinterpreted in a way that arguably advances Satan’s agenda. The October 2011 edition of the magazine emphasized false teachings about a future time period that eerily sounds like the great tribulation mentioned by Christ in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21).

  • Today I focus on this topic in lieu of a review of the October 2011 edition of Creme’s magazine.

My Impressions of the Vatican’s Report on Global Political and Economic Reform After Reading It

As many of you probably know by now, the Pontifical Council for Peace and Justice released a report that many say calls for the creation of a global central bank and the creation of an authority to manage the global economy. The report raised many eyebrows with people who are leery about the prospects for a future global government since the report was published by a Vatican-affiliated organization.

  • I was surprised when I heard about the report because it is usually a United Nations organization that advocates global governance or management of the global economy.

I wanted to read the Vatican’s report before fully commenting on it because I wanted to see whether there were some things in the report that journalists failed to notice when summarizing the report. I found some time over the past couple of days to read and to study the Vatican’s report, and I am now ready to share my thoughts on the report.

My Final Article on Harold Camping (Unless He Makes Another Prediction)

October 21, 2011 came and went without Harold Camping’s end of the world prediction coming true. If you read my critique of Camping’s October 21 prediction, you should not be surprised that his prediction failed to transpire as his prediction was built on teachings that contradict the Bible.

Media interest in the October 21 story was not nearly as high as the interest in the May 21 story. Consequently, there has been relatively less media coverage of the aftermath of October 21’s non-events than the aftermath of May 21’s non-events.

Today I’ll share with you what I’ve read about the aftermath of Camping’s failed October 21 prediction and share some of my thoughts on the subject as a way to provide some closure on this whole Harold Camping topic.

U.N. Security Council Vote on Palestinian Authority’s Bid May Come in November

Today I want to draw attention to an article that appeared in the Jerusalem Post around the time when much of the world’s attention was focused on Libya after the death of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The reason I want to draw attention to the article is that it pertains to something I’ve written about periodically during the past several months: the Palestinian Authority’s U.N. bid. Specifically, the article is about the possibility for the United Nations Security Council to vote on the Palestinian Authority’s U.N. bid soon.

Creme’s Television Commercial Recently Aired on the History Channel in the U.S.

I occasionally write about a man named Benjamin Creme. For new readers who do not know who Creme is, he is a false teacher who promotes the coming of a figure named Maitreya. Creme, Helena P. Blavatsky, Alice Bailey, and others (falsely) claim that Maitreya is an individual who represents the coming messianic figure predicted by all the world’s major religions.

  • From a Christian point of view, Maitreya, at the minimum, represents one of the many false christs that the Bible warned us about. Some go as far as to say that Maitreya represents the Antichrist.

The reason why I occasionally write about Creme is that I do not believe that he is your ordinary false teacher.

  • He is a man who Christian lawyer Constance Cumbey, the author of The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, personally witnessed mesmerizing a large crowd of people with “a power that was not his own - an evil, hypnotic presence”.[1]
  • Creme’s interviews on Coast to Coast AM have coincided with large numbers of people becoming physically ill, including the host of the program himself. Coast to Coast AM host George Noory described his interview with Creme as the “strangest” one he’s ever conducted. The following video contains audio of Noory describing how ill he and his audience became while listening to Creme speak.  The audio of Noory lasts from 0:46 to 2:53 (Note, I am not responsible for the logo that appears on the lower right corner of the screen. I don’t believe Barack Obama is the Antichrist).

The main reason for this article is that it has come to my attention that a television commercial promoting the coming of Maitreya and his group of so-called “Masters of Wisdom” (a group of spiritual beings referred to as the “spiritual wickedness in high places” in Ephesians 6:12) recently aired on a major American television channel. Unsurprisingly, the television commercial is sponsored by Creme’s organization.

More European Integration May Be On the Way According to Biancheri

Clarification for why I write about the European sovereign debt crisis for new readers: There are a lot of people who believe that the European Union could someday be a significant End Times player. If the European Union were to become a significant End Times player it would likely need to have much more political cohesion amongst its member countries than it has now. The process to create more political cohesion in Europe is a complicated one that is likely going to require more cohesion in areas like fiscal policy (taxation and spending) first as political union often represents the final step of integration.

I sometimes write about issues relating to the ongoing European sovereign debt crisis because I believe the crisis is a potential catalyst that could push European leaders to agree to more cohesion in areas like fiscal policy. In other words, the ongoing turmoil in Europe is a potential event that could help Europe become more like the Europe that many people envision it will resemble during the End Times. With this clarification out of the way, I now share today’s article relating to the European sovereign debt crisis.

This past weekend leaders from the G20 stated that they expect European leaders to come up with a comprehensive plan to address the European sovereign debt crisis and the European banking crisis by the end of a major European Union summit this weekend.

At the time of this writing, there is no guarantee that European leaders will come up with a comprehensive plan to effectively address the challenges that Europe faces.  In fact, Germany’s Finance Minister warned yesterday that it was unlikely that European leaders would have a comprehensive plan completed by the end of the summit.  In addition, the Wall Street Journal reports that there is disagreement between Germany and France on major issues, including what to do with Greece and how to boost the size of the E.U.’s financial rescue fund (the EFSF).

Despite the uncertainty, it seems that we are getting closer to European leaders deciding what the future course of Europe will be.  European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso conveyed this sentiment when he said:

“We’re at a turning point, a decisive point, which requires clear and determined responses, comprehensive responses.”

The question that is probably on the minds many people watching Europe approach this “decisive point” is: “What is the outcome of all this going to be?”

I recently listened to an interesting podcast interview featuring a European trends analyst named Franck Biancheri.  Biancheri talked about several subjects, including the future of the European Union and where he believed the world is heading as a result of the ongoing crises.

I thought I would share some of the key highlights from the interview because I found Biancheri’s analysis interesting.  Biancheri talked about potential developments concerning Europe and the world which I think are important to watch for as the End Times approach from a European perspective.

  • I will also share of my own thoughts from time to time in this article.

Revisiting the Discrepancy Between U.S. Economic Data and Reality

I’ve written a few times in the past about how there seems to be a major discrepancy between the economic picture that the U.S. government paints and the economic reality that many Americans face.

The discrepancy is currently as large as it has ever been as the U.S. government recently reported economic data that suggests the U.S. economy is growing-albeit at a slow pace-while a recent CNN/ORC International poll estimated that 82% percent of Americans think the U.S. economy is already in a recession.

I thought it would be a good idea to review this discrepancy again since it’s been over a year since I last touched upon this subject.

  • I know a lot of people who read this blog live outside the U.S. I think it is good for non-Americans to be aware of this because this is a phenomenon that takes places in a lot of countries around the world. If there is a discrepancy between what the U.S. government tells its people about the economy and what economic conditions are actually like then there is probably a similar discrepancy in the country you live in too.

Critiquing Harold Camping’s October 21 End of the World Prediction

October 21 is only one week away from today. I mention this because Harold Camping, the man whose May 21, 2011 Rapture prediction and May 21, 2011 great earthquake prediction failed to transpire, has a prediction/teaching concerning October 21. Camping teaches that the world will be destroyed on October 21, 2011.

I pondered whether it would be worth the effort to write an article about Camping’s end of the world prediction after his predictions concerning May 21, 2011 failed to transpire. I surveyed several websites to see whether there are people who actually believe in Camping’s October 21, 2011 prediction after his May 21, 2011 Rapture prediction and May 21, 2011 great earthquake prediction failed. Believe it or not, there are some hardcore followers who believe in what Camping teaches concerning October 21.

  • I’ve decided to write a critique of Camping’s October 21 teaching because there are people who believe that the world is going to end on October 21. I write this article in hopes that some of these people discover this article and realize that Camping’s teaching about October 21 is wrong.

War Between Saudi Arabia & Iran: An Unpleasant Scenario

Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran escalated recently after Iran was accused by the U.S. government of planning to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s U.S. ambassador. Iran denies any involvement in such a plot while Saudi Arabia says that Iran must “pay the price”.

I was talking about this news event with my dad yesterday afternoon. The conversation quickly turned into a discussion of what could happen if Iran and Saudi Arabia were to ever go to war with each other. The discussion was so interesting that I thought I should share some of the things we thought could happen.

A Proposed Solution to the “Wilderness of the People” Question (Ezekiel 20:35)

I provided an update a week ago on where my study concerning the term “wilderness of the people” in Ezekiel 20:35 stood. I mentioned in that article that I leaned towards the view that the “wilderness of the people” is located somewhere in the nations, but I was not exactly sure about the geographic scope of the “wilderness of the people”.

After a week thinking about the issue, I have come up with a proposed solution which I feel comfortable with. Today I share this proposed solution with you.

Introducing the Mobile Version of the Blog!

I know many people these days utilize mobile devices like the iPhone to view the web while they are away from a computer.  I don’t currently own a mobile phone which has any functional Internet capability, but I recently got the opportunity to see what the blog looks like on a mobile device (if an iPod Touch can be counted as a mobile device).  I realized after looking at the blog on a mobile device that it is difficult-if not impossible-for people to read the blog while using a mobile device.

I worked over the weekend to remedy the problem by coming up with a mobile version of the blog.  Here are a couple of screenshots of what the blog looks like now on a mobile device:

If anyone has any problems with the mobile version of the blog please let me know.

I also worked hard on a completely new blog design this past weekend.  I don’t know when the new blog design will be ready to implement, but I think it is going to be a major upgrade over the blog’s current design, especially for those who view the blog on a tablet device like the iPad…

I hope this new mobile version of the blog is easy to read for anyone who decides to read this blog on a mobile device in the future.  I want to close today’s announcement by saying thank you to everyone who reads this blog!  You help to make this all possible!

How Armed Conflict in 2011 Compares to the Past

The Center for Systemic Peace (CSP) has a website with a lot of interesting data and charts showing conflict trends around the world over time. I’ve included some of the CSP’s findings past articles, including an article earlier this year about which countries may be next to see instability if food prices were to increase further.

The CSP recently updated their website to include data from 2010 and data from 2011 in some cases. Today I want discuss a few of the CSP’s updates which help show how armed conflict in 2011 compares to the armed conflict in the past because I think many people may find the comparison interesting.

Locating the Great Tribulation’s Start Time on the End Times Calendar

Today I feel compelled to write an article on the general timing of the great tribulation’s start in context of the End Times. My intention is to not provide a specific date when I think the great tribulation will begin, but to give an idea of how long it will take once the End Times starts for it to begin.

More on the “Wilderness of the People” in Ezekiel 20:35

I mentioned in an article from a couple of weeks ago that one of remaining things I want to do before sharing my thoughts on Ezekiel 38 & Ezekiel 39 is to become completely comfortable with Ezekiel 20:33-20:38, which again says the following:

  • Eze 20:33 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
  • Eze 20:34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
  • Eze 20:35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.
  • Eze 20:36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
  • Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
  • Eze 20:38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

The article from a couple of weeks ago focused on primarily on the term “wilderness of the people” in Ezekiel 20:35. I presented three theories I’ve considered concerning where the “wilderness of the people” might be located. Here are the locations I mentioned:

  • The wilderness of the Sinai
  • The mountains of Israel
  • Somewhere in the nations

I’ve had the opportunity over the past couple of weeks to further evaluate these theories. Today I provide an update on the progress I’ve made towards understanding where the “wilderness of the people” may be located during these past couple of weeks.
